Today is an Afghan day of mourning

The Afghan government has made today an official day of mourning to remember the lives lost in a suicide bombing attack on an Afghan army base.

The attack is said to have targeted those leaving the Mosque in the Afghan army base near Mazar-e Sharif. The Taliban have claimed they are behind the attack. Despite this being a cause of obvious unrest and great trauma within the country, a national day of mourning is just one way the people of Afghanistan can show that hate will not win.
