Lawyers to appeal Russia’s decision to ban Jehovah’s Witnesses

If the appeal to the Supreme Court fails, Jehovah’s Witnesses will take their case to the European Court of Human Rights and fight the decision made to brand the religion “extremist”.

People in Russia, Jehovah’s Witnesses (of which there are 170,000 in Russia) and others, will not allow the state to curb religious beliefs that are not causing harm or fear without first putting up a fight. It is empowering for us all to see Russians standing up for what they believe in, despite the powerful and sometimes intimidating state they live in.
