The explosions hit a bus which was carrying the Borussia Dortmund football team. Only one player was hurt, Marc Bartra, who broke a bone in his wrist. An escorting police officer on a motorbike was also wounded. Pictures showed the bus with its’ windows broken and tyres burst. There is still no clear evidence about who is behind the attack.

After the attack, Monaco fans chanted “Dortmund” in the stands, and after the fans were allowed to leave the stadium local Dortmund fans offered accommodation for the night to stranded Monaco supporters. Looking at twitter at the hashtag #bedforawayfans, it is clear to see this event has brought “rivals” together as friends.
